Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Wow it's been long time since my last post

But finally the summer vacation and all the holidays that followed are over so I have now time again to work and create.

I have a big stuck of metal findings so I decided to make a use of them and created the "Autumn collection".
The last days I have been busy taking photos which is a lot of work (and I am not very happy of the result).
I have started with the rings

All of them are for sale and you can find it on my Etsy shop and on my new  Dawanda  shop.

Hopefully by the end of the week I will finish taking the photos and I will share them here with you.

just another flower

This is another pendant that I have made using the technique of Jana Roberts Benzon.
It took me awhile to process this technique (I took Jana's workshop in January) but now that I have I really enjoy using it and it is really inspiring.

You can also find this pendant on my Etsy shop.

Happy tree friend

The inspiration to this pendant is this beautiful fruit I have found in my neighborhood.  I have no idea what's the name of the tree so if anyone out there knows please let me know.

The pendant is made of polymer with a touch of 3 freshwater pearls and it is for sale, you can find it on my Etsy shop.

Prototype

This is the prototype of the bracelet from the previous post. This one is made out of polymer with freshwater pearls in the middle.

And so the end is near

mm.. sounds a bit dramatic but yes it's a bit sad the year is coming to an end and my first year of metal smiting studies is almost finished, it's going to be a long break until the beginning of the second year.

And this is my last project for this year

It's been a tricky one.

The end result is a bit different then the original idea I had in mind, but it was an interesting process creating this piece and it took some original solutions to make it work. So thank you Merav my great teacher for not giving up and helping me finish it.

Here is a great video tutorial from  Nathalie Duval / Charas.
In this 3 parts tutorial, Nathalie shows us how to make a flower cane from polymer.

Even though it's in french, it is very easy to follow the steps shown on the video.

2 new rings I have made

2 new rings that I have finished recently.
The first was an exercise of making a turning ring.

Slamming a bit too much on the rounds caused the soldering to open on one side. (those of you with sharp vision can see it on the top right).

The second ring was a project for valentine.
So I came up with this

It took me awhile to get over the fear of working at home with the torch and oxides, but now that I have started, I hope to increase the production line.

Love and peace wishes
